Eddie Dickens Trilogy
The Eddie Dickens Trilogy began as a
series of letters written by the author for his nephew at boarding
school. In the style of Charles Dickens (and it is no mistake that
Eddie's last name is Dickens as well) the letters ended in
cliffhangers. To Ardagh's amazement, not only was his nephew reading the
letters, he was sharing them with his friends, and soon everyone was reading
it. It didn't take long before his
publisher snatched them up. And the rest, as they say, is history.
